Terrorism risk to Gladstone, recurrent objection to the EIS for Santos-Petronas LNG plans

First 12 of 12 paragraphs shown  The Santos plant was one of four such LNG plants planned for Gladstone. The graph shows the critical events follow an LNG leak. It's a delayed effect, as gas components evaporate.
 LNG explosion hazards: Frozen LNG, when leaked, can -  in an ice-explosion - explosively expand to 600 times its volume; this can happen about 30 minutes after LNG meets water, as various components evaporate.
 What may follow: A paper by Gordon Mime, Senior Risk Analyst Lloyds Register of Shipping said a catastrophic ice explosion and  then a fire explosion can follow an LNG leak ovev water.
 Ice chunks fly through the air:  Everything would freeze solid, including metal, which may then fracture, and cause cascade events.
 In leaks to water, LNG was explosive; it boiled and then exploded if for example,  spilled on petrol sheen over water. Depending on the volume, LNG leaked over a body of water, could cause a castrophic event which could cause deaths in a 1 km radius. The intense cold also cracked metal parts and metal decks and pipes.
 How it happens: The science was LNG formed a 'cloud:.
 - First, heat is transferred from the water to the LNG; the sea boils, water vapor rises
-  then, the LNG  suddenly converted from its liquid phase to its gaseous phase;
-  the gas suddenly changes from  minus 259 F (minus 162 C) changes into liquid and expands to  600  times
 When to row like hell:  Signs of  an  ‘LNG release’  was a low lying heavy cloud of vaporised LNG with well defined edges made visible by condensed water vapour. About 20 minute later a catastrophic ice explosion may happen.
