Night car-bomb terrorist attack on state headquarters of coal and energy union, CFMEU, in Lidcombe

First 10 of 10 paragraphs shown At about 10.30 pm in the evening of Thursday 27 May, a stolen Mazda sedan loaded with petrol canisters was rammed through the three meter high steel front security fence into the foyer of the  coal and energy union's NSW state office's headquarters at Lidcome in Western Sydney. It was then set alight.
Fire fighters not aware of petrol cans:
 - The foyer was soaked in petrol before being set alight. The car had been stolen two days before.
 -  The attack to the NSW state office's headquarters, destroyed part of the building's lower level, with smoke damage to the upper level.
Who was the target: The Mining and Energy Division of the CFMEU represent workers in the mining, oil, gas, port and power industries.
Mazda bomb: The Mazda sedan was crashed into the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union's building in Lidcombe and a set alight late last Thursday.
Suspects: The union's state secretary, Andrew Ferguson, linkd the attack to a row with a building firm over a migrant worker wage claim. Inspector Chris Hill from Flemington police was investigating.
Car was still full of unexploded petrol drums: Firemen fought the blaze, unaware that the car was still full of unexploded petrol drums. Nobody was hurt in the attack. Around $500,000 of property damage was done.  Had the petrol exploded, the damage to the building would have been even more substantial and firemen may have lost their lives.
