2010 Australian offshore release: Exmouth W10-13, W10-14 amid turtles, whales, birds, and military bombing runs

 - Flatback (Natator depressus), Green (Chelonia mydas) and Hawksbill (Eretmochelys imbricata) turtles are listed as vulnerable and migratory, and Leatherback (Dermochelys Coriacea) and Loggerhead (Caretta caretta) turtles are listed as endangered and migratory.
 Whale sharks: W10-13 and W10-14 are located in an area which may be utilised by migrating Whale sharks (Rhincodon typus).
 Humpback whales: These acreages are also close to the Humpback whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) aggregation area around Exmouth Gulf.
 Marine Fairy terns:  W10-13 and W10-14 are located in an area where listed marine Fairy terns (Sternula nereis) and listed migratory Roseate terns (Sterna dougallii) are likely to undertake high density foraging.
 Commericial fisheries: These areas are within the Western Tuna and Billfish, North West Slope Trawl, Skipjack Tuna, Western Deepwater Trawl and Southern Bluefin Tuna Fisheries ranges. Historical AFMA logbook data for 2007 and 2008 indicate that no vessels reported operating in these areas.
 Military area:  Successful applicants will need to liaise closely with the RAAF and RAN on timing and location of any proposed exploration activities.
