AEMO Notice - RESERVE NOTICE MT PASA PUBLICATION 02 March 2010 (02/03/2010) shows deficit in South Australia only, despite demand-fall

SA MTPASA forecast

First 21 of 21 paragraphs shown  This MT PASA run reflects SA 10% POE Native Demand reductions by 95MW to 3405MW for summer 2009/10:
- and by
15MW to 2705MW for winter 2010, based on the advice from AEMO Transmission Services.    Forecast low reserve conditions (LRC): The MT PASA RELIABILITY_LRC results published on 02 March 2010 forecast low reserve conditions (LRC) in the following months:
  2012:
  SA: Jan, Feb

As of 01 July 2007 minimum reserve levels that apply in MT PASA are:

  QLD* NSW VIC/SA SA* TAS
  ---- ----- ----- ---- ---
  560  -1430   615  -50   144
*This is a local requirement and must be met by generation within the region.
In order to remain consistent with the calculation of the minimum reserve levels and the abolition of Snowy region, the following interconnector headroom constraints (net import limit constraints) for MTPASA have been implemented.
  - The QLD MRL is assessed with 0 MW transfer into the region because it is a local requirement.
  - The NSW MRL is assessed with a net import limit into NSW of 1946 MW with suitable adjustments considering the PASA Availability of Guthega and Tumut generating units.
  - The VIC MRL is assessed with a net import limit into VIC of 2510 MW with suitable adjustments considering the PASA Availability of the Murray generating unit.
  - The SA MRL is assessed with 0 MW transfer into the region because it is a local requirement.
R egional boundaries and minimum reserve levels associated with the abolition of the Snowy Region were implemented in MT PASA on Sunday 29 June 2008. Refer to NEM Communication 2680.
Demand Side Responses included in MT PASA are: NSW 0 MW, QLD 129 MW, VIC 50 MW, SA 16 MW, TAS 0 MW.
