 - The Fish Health Unit has a requirement for the purchase of a laser micro-dissection (LMD) system to:
 - enable it to provide the information essential for the State government to manage disease outbreaks and other biosecurity threats in a timely fashion.
 - The purchase, installation and use of an LMD system should ensure an increase in the number of tests without any change in staffing levels and a faster identification of pathogens seen at a cellular level, which will assist in supporting the Department of Fisheries' strategy of protecting and enhancing the state's marine and coastal environment.
