First 6 of 6 paragraphs shown The environment Protection Authority (EPA) declares significantly contaminated land at  395 Gardeners Road, Rosebery NSW 2018 (described as Lot 1 in DP 75748), in the local government area of City of Botany Bay Council.
  Nature of contamination affecting the site: The EPA has found that the site is contaminated with the following substances (the contaminants): Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH); and Benzene, Toluene, Ethyl benzene and Xylenes (BTEX). In particular the EPA has found:
 - Elevated concentrations of TPH and BTEX compounds in groundwater on-site; and
 - Elevated concentrations of BTEX within the indoor air of the adjacent residential apartment.
  Nature of harm that the contaminants may cause: The EPA has considered the matters in section 12 of the Act and has determined that the land is contaminated and that the contamination is significant enough to warrant regulation under the Act. Particularly, the EPA has determined that the contamination has degraded the environment (soil, groundwater and air) and has the potential to affect human health.
